we rant, we rave, we complain,

we return our 8-burner grill to costco,

we post to social media, we like, we subscribe,

we edit, we post, we manipulate and cajole and

ask alexa repeatedly to play songs until we just

give up because we can't find just the right one,

we listen to one podcast or another, we watch

one news channel or the other, we adhere to

one political tribe or the other, we work, we drink,

we watch late night shows, we medicate, we overeat,

we launch startups, we fund startups, we go for broke,

we play it safe, we exercise, we procreate,

we wage wars, and then we die

all the while the rest of those

who are still living go on
